When you play in tournaments or at the cash game tables at Cake Poker you will be earning Frequent Play Points. You get 1 player point for every dollar in rake that is taken out of the pot or if you play tournaments you will get 7 points for every dollar that you pay in tournament fees. After you have earned your first 120 FPPs you will receive your first Gold Chip. These Gold Chips can be used either to buy in to tournaments or in the Cake Poker VIP Shop. In the VIP shop at Cake Poker you can choose between things like iPods, T-shirts, Poker books and other Cake Poker merchandise.
The more you play at the poker tables the faster you will earn your Gold Chips.
The Gold chips are earned according to the following schedule
1st Gold Chip 120 FPP
2nd Gold Chip 115FPP
3rd Gold Chip 110 FPP
4th Gold Chip 90 FPP
5th+ Gold Chip 70 FPP
As you see it becomes much easier to earn Gold Chips the more player points you earn by playing at Cake Poker.
If you are just a couple of Gold Chips short of buying something that you want in the VIP Shop you can use some of your Gold Chips to play in a Gold Chip Lover Sit and Go where the winner wins all of the other players Gold Chips in the tournament. This is a good way to build your Gold Chip bankroll.
